When a donation occurs through the Halo app, our team will transfer those funds to the charity partner’s Halo Visa Card. These cards work similarly to debit cards, are reloadable and can be used online.

Before you submit your donation, you’ll receive an exact breakdown detailing what percentage of your donation goes to the fundraiser, charity partner and Halo’s administration fees.

We’re an externally audited not-for-profit that aims to keep our fees as low as possible. Our small admin fee is to cover the cost of processing donations and the overall maintenance of the app.

Halo’s technology makes it easier for charities to receive smaller, targeted donations. By replacing large-scale funding and connecting people ready to give directly via the app, we can provide a higher percentage of contributions to where it’s needed most.

Yes. Hall Chadwick externally audits Halo for complete transparency of our operational costs. We will publish audits online as part of ongoing compliance obligations, which all government-registered charities must comply with.

Yes. We are a registered not-for-profit, as shown on the Australian Government website https://www.acnc.gov.au/charity/programs/map

Halo only lists fundraisers from registered Australian charities and not-for-profits. Our team verifies the stories you see on our app, so you know exactly who your donation is helping.

Donations can be made via credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Paypal.

The processing time for a Halo Visa Card is approximately 7-10 business days. 

Yes, multiple Halo Visa Cards can be linked under a Charity Partner’s account.

We can offer a complete replacement for lost or stolen Halo Visa Cards. Please allow 7-10 business days for all card replacements.

No, the funds will need to be spent before the card has expired. However, our Halo team will provide you with sufficient notice before the card expires.

Each Halo Visa Card has a maximum balance of $4999.99. If your card reaches the maximum upload limit, part of the funds will need to be spent in order for us to continue to loading funds onto the Halo Visa Card. 

Gambling, Quasi Cash, lottery tickets, other financial cards, and recurring transactions, e.g. subscriptions.

 

Donations received during normal business hours can be loaded onto the Charity Partner’s Halo Visa Card within hours. Donations received outside of normal business hours will be loaded within 24 hrs.

Yes, but the card cannot be used at online merchants who pre-authorise the card for less than $0.01 prior to the transaction being approved.

 

Example merchants such as PayPal, Apple, eBay, and Amazon (and others) do this in order to prevent fraud.

Step 1: Tap Settings > Account Details.

Step 2: Select Delete Account.

Step 3: Press Delete Account to confirm and then click ‘Yes’.
